The local lifestyle in Eastham is highly laid-back and calming. Eastham has a small-town energy that beckons many buyers searching for a Cape town with a strong community atmosphere and neighborly environment. Since it is more residential than other Cape Cod towns, Eastham does not have that many commercial attractions, though it does have a number of local restaurants and shops.

Going to the beach is a staple of life in Eastham. Locals can either spend the day on the beach basking in the sun and reading a book or sailing and swimming in the ocean. Eastham is a small town with access to various fine-dining eateries nearby.  Whether you are looking for casual, formal or just want the best ever seafood Eastham has all option.  Fairway doughnuts are hand made and well worth the wait to get fresh made, still warm pastries and other baked goods.  Arnolds and is world known for it's fresh seafood dishes and people come back year after year.  My favorite is when we pick up sandwiches from Sam's deli and take off for one of the National Park Beaches.  Coast Guard Beach is consistently rated top ten in the nation/world for its natural beauty.  Nauset Light Beach is also a national park beach located in Eastham and very popular.  Most of the land in Eastham is the Cape Cod National Seashore Park and you step into a world of natural beauty and untouched nature.  The park offers many ways to take part in activities that afford you learn and experience places and history in the park.  Leave time to visit the Nauset Lighthouse right next to nauset light beach.  Free tours scheduled through out the summer and no charge to visit but donations are appreciated. The most popular thing to do while in Eastham is to visit the beach. Though Eastham boasts many stunning beaches, Nauset Light Beach is one of the best. It is a white sand beach with walking trails and plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation while also being home to the historic Nauset Light, a lighthouse built in 1877. Another great spot to visit in Eastham is Cape Cod National Seashore Salt Pond Visitor Center. It offers various exhibits so visitors can learn more about Cape Cod’s ecological and cultural history.
 

To spend more time in nature, be sure to visit Fort Hill. It is a nature preserve full of plants, animals, and beautiful landscapes. Fort Hill has many walking trails for people to explore the area’s natural and historic landmarks, such as a 19th-century farmhouse. Lastly, the Cape Cod Rail Trail is a superb 22-mile trail that extends from Dennis to Wellfleet. Residents of Cape Cod love to utilize the trail for all kinds of exercise, like biking and running.
